Joining a round
Is Katchik really free?
Yes. Joining a round, missions and prizes cost nothing, and there is nothing to buy to play.
Why do I follow the featured creator?
It's how you join a round, on top of following @katchikapp once. The winner of each round becomes the featured creator of the next one, so everyone who joins that round in the app must follow them. You can unfollow a round's featured creator once that round's winner is announced.
Do I have to follow @katchikapp?
Yes. Following @katchikapp on TikTok is what lets you earn points, do missions and join rounds. You follow by hand in TikTok, then confirm in the app. The free entry form needs no follow.
When do you check my follow?
By default, only if you're selected. You follow by hand in TikTok and confirm in the app. If you're selected, we check that the TikTok account you connected follows the featured creator and @katchikapp. Your TikTok account must be public when you accept, as the rules explain. If a check fails, we tell you which one, and you have 24 hours to show us it is wrong. Keep following the featured creator until the winner is announced, and keep following @katchikapp to keep playing.
Can I join without following anyone?
Yes. Use the free entry form on katchik.com. It counts in the same selection. Without a Katchik account, it holds one ticket. The rules of each round describe it.
Points and missions
How do points work?
Connecting TikTok gives you a starting total: a linking bonus plus points from your public stats, which are capped so bought followers cannot take over. Missions and invites add more. At close, 1 point = 1 ticket; in rounds of 30 or more players, one player's tickets are capped at 5% of the total.
Winning and prizes
What happens if I'm selected?
You get a private notice and 48 hours to accept. Accepting means keeping your TikTok account public until the next round ends and letting us show your TikTok handle and profile photo as the winner and as the next round's featured creator. You can say no, and the next person in line is selected.
Fairness
How is the winner picked?
At close, the entry list is sealed and its fingerprint published. A public random number from the drand beacon, revealed after the seal, selects a player. By default, only that player's follows are checked, and a free entry never needs a follow check. Anyone can re-run the selection.
Account and data
Is Katchik part of TikTok?
No. Katchik is independent. It is not sponsored, endorsed or run by TikTok, Apple or Google.
How do I delete my account?
Use the delete form on katchik.com. We email you a link; once you open it, you have 30 days to change your mind, then we erase your data. Logging in before then cancels it.
I forgot my password
In the app, tap Forgot password on the login screen. We email you a link to katchik.com where you choose a new one. The link works once, for 1 hour.
